President Carter in Shanghai – Recordings

Published March 21, 2011 by subcultureshanghai

A couple of weeks back, President Carter from NYC joined Uprooted Sunshine for a session at The Shelter, and it was one of the best nights of strictly Reggae we’ve had for some time! Some serious tunes dropped that night! Luckily, for all those that weren’t there (and for those that were) Carter recorded the whole 4 hour session and has put it up online HERE . The first 2 hours are Carter at the controls with the Uprooted MC’s on mic duty, and the second 2 hours are Carter, Deville and Drunk Monk going one fi one, plus a suprise performance from Theo Croker on Trumpet and a friend on Saxaphone (sorry i forgot your name)! Big session!!!

Published March 11, 2011 by subcultureshanghai

Shanghai By Bus is back at Shelter tonight (yeah not the 18th Feb, or 18th March – we had some flyer design issues…..again….), with a very special guest – President Carter from NYC! Carter touched down in Shanghai and we had a really nice afternoon digging records (a most on that coming soon, we found some killers!) and now we are all hyped up for tonight! Carter will play an extended set and he’s prepared some killer versions for the Uprooted vocalists to jump on! This one is going to be heavy people, don’t miss!!!
